00:00.000 --> 00:18.000
The Internet has changed the world in ways we could have never imagined.

00:18.000 --> 00:20.000
But what exactly is it?

00:20.000 --> 00:24.000
The Internet is a global network made up of billions of computers.

00:24.000 --> 00:29.000
These computers are communicating with each other, allowing people to share information in a variety of ways.

00:29.000 --> 00:36.000
The Internet operates through physical cables, even wireless connections rely on these cables to access the global network.

00:36.000 --> 00:41.000
When you visit a website, your computer sends a request over the cables to a server.

00:41.000 --> 00:46.000
A server is where data-like websites are stored, and it works a lot like your computer.

00:46.000 --> 00:53.000
Once the request arrives, the server retrieves the website, and sends the correct data or information back to your computer or device.

00:53.000 --> 00:57.000
The data might be text, images, videos, you name it.

00:57.000 --> 01:05.000
For all of the amazing things it can do, issues like cyberbullying, privacy concerns, fraud, and other challenges.

01:05.000 --> 01:10.000
Come with the territory, it's hard to predict how any new technology will evolve.

01:10.000 --> 01:14.000
But one thing we know for sure is that the Internet is here to stay.

01:14.000 --> 01:20.000
This web of connection is a powerful thing, and it will continue to transform the world as we know it.
